The Church of St John the Baptist stands on a slight hill in the centre of the village. There has been a church on this spot since the 11th century. The earliest part of the present church is the north arcade dating from about 1200.  The chancel was built some hundred years later and the aisles most likely in the 14th century.  The tower was built about 1450.   We have a ring of five bells, restored in 2019 and normally rung for all services.
